More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I babysit my Niece and Nephews who are aged from 2,3 and 8! I also helped my mom raise my 4 year old brother from infancy who turned out to have a speech delay and now a Sensory Processing Disorder, so I have plenty of experience through that as well. I got my CPR, First Aid and AED Certification through Community College EMT Classes as well as when I was working as a PCA. I now have a 22 month old son and this has only given me even more experience and compassion for children and the way they see the world. It is so important to follow schedules/routines, for kids to explore the world around them, harbor curiosity, educational activities, sensory play, the list could go on. I spend more time outside playing or inside playing than I would watching tv and have plenty of energy to work with any age. I look forward to meeting you!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Playing board games, movies (if permittable by parents), playing outside, baking (if permittable as well), making arts and crafts, sensory play, educational games, music/dance time, swimming etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think that the most important part of being a nanny is being there for the children and their parents. A nanny is someone who is there for someone elses children and cares for them while their parents are away, that alone is a big role. It's important for the kids and parents to all feel comfortable and safe with the person they choose to be there for them! Nanny's should be compassionate, caring, loyal, present, and fun! The parents should feel comfortable leaving their children in the care of that nanny with little to no worry.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is when I used to take care of a child who was very shy and with everything going on in the world some children have been really effected by this and so getting to know her was a slow moving process. She felt out of place and It took about a week but she started talking, playing, stopped following me around and twisting her hair. Listening to her okay, talk so much and see her true personality come through because she trusts me is such an incredible feeling. I am so happy she felt safe enough to do so.
