More About Me
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Painting/crafting, puzzles, baking/cooking, playing games, reading, singing, dancing, going to the park, riding bikes, exploring nature and the world around us
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is that the child feels like they are safe with me and can talk to me about anything. I always love to become part of the family and not only have a close relationship with the child, but with the parents as well.
My experience with special needs children...
In college I studied courses where we learned about specific disabilities that people live with, how they’re affected, and what we as people and a society can do to help. We were encouraged to volunteer with diverse populations of people, and I did frequent volunteer work with Camp Twin Lakes, which is a camp that specializes in working with children who are living with disabilities or are chronically ill. During this time I realized my love for working with people who are a bit different than me, because we can teach each other so much. I also worked as an after-school specialist, where I helped individual children with learning disabilities complete their schoolwork and engage in play with others.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moments are typically when children make me laugh, because they are truly hilarious. However, my most incredible moments have been later, typically after I’ve finished a nannying position. One of the little girls I first ever nannied for is now in college. It was such an incredible moment to see her walk across her stage at graduation and go on to pursue her own interests and passions. I love getting to see who children can grow up to be! They really are the future.
