A little bit about me

Hi my name is Kelsey, I am 26 years old and have a 4 year old son. I travel for my husbands job in the Air Force, but we are stationed here for a few years. I have current experience in Oregon with working childcare and at a preschool. I started off as a kitchen aide making all meals from ages 1-6 then I moved up the teacher assistant. I also was certified for preschool teaching. I have helped 2 years with Montessori school and raise my son based off of the Montessori way. We are more health based in my home but I do not judge and am open to everything. In total I have 7+ years experience with watching children. My sons school is a 4 minute walk from home so I would love to be able to watch your child here where we can stay busy. I love very close to Navarre Park and would stay active outside a lot. I live in a nice neighborhood that is safe and friendly. I do have a fenced backyard also and my sons room is set up basically as a play room. He is very social and loves to make it fun.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Everything outdoors. I’m good at making up all kinds of games and will be prepared for a good park day. With all snacks prepared if needed. I’m good at multi tasking and preparing the day based off of their mood if they need a slower day or a busy day to wear them out. I love arts and crafts and will sometimes make special crafts based off of the holiday.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is keeping the children’s needs in mind. If they are showing signs of having a hard time it is best for me to have a understanding they might of had a hard morning or not enough sleep..etc. Always be understanding and patient and also loved has got me a long way with all different personality of kids.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with Autistic kids and Down syndrome. Everything comes at ease with me when it comes to children’s needs. As long as I can sit down with a parent and get a good understanding then I can do it. My son also loves to hang out with kids that special needs. He is a very understanding little one.
