I've worked with children in a variety of settings throughout my life, including as a full-time nanny, lifeguard, church nursery volunteer, and psychiatric technician in a children's unit. I have experience supporting children of different ages, personalities, and needs, including children on the autism spectrum. These experiences taught me the importance of patience, consistency, safety, and developing trust.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy finding activities that match each child's interests, needs, and personality. Some of my favorites include outdoor play, swimming, arts and crafts, reading, imaginative games, sports, baking, and helping with homework or school projects. I love encouraging curiosity and confidence while making sure children feel safe, supported, and free to have fun! My goal is always to be engaged and present rather than simply supervising from the sidelines.

The most important part of being a nanny is creating an atmosphere where children feel safe, loved, and understood. Children thrive when they know they can trust the adults around them, and I take that responsibility seriously. I believe a nanny should be a positive role model, a reliable source of support, and a partner to parents in helping children grow into confident, capable people. Building strong relationships with both children and families is what makes the role so rewarding.
My experience with special needs children...
During my time as a full-time nanny, I cared for a child on the autism spectrum, and I have also supported children facing emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges in a children's behavioral health setting. These experiences have strengthened my patience, flexibility, and communication skills. I believe in meeting each child where they are and take pride in nurturing their unique strengths with respect and understanding.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It's hard for me to choose just one favorite nanny moment. Some of my most treasured memories are the everyday moments: getting the kids ready for school, grabbing treats after cheerleading practice, carpool conversations, hearing their excited stories and laughter, and being there with a hug after a hard day. These moments may seem ordinary, but they are the ones I remember most. The love, trust, and relationships I built with those children are what made nannying so meaningful to me.
