The most important thing (other than making sure the kids are safe) is making sure they are happy. Children need exposure in my opinion. They are growing people and will go through a lot of emotion. I think it's important to be a part of that process and experience.

I have cared for children that are non-verbal and autistic. Some of the biggest sweethearts I have ever met.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My last family I babysat for had a trampoline in the backyard. The kids were bored and hot, so I set up the hose and let them jump with the water. It ended up being their favorite, so they had me do it nearly every time I was there. (even the dog was a fan haha)
