A little bit about me

Hey!! My Name is Kensley Phillips and I'm 24 years old. I have had 10+ years of experience babysitting and nannying (6 years paid). My times are quite flexible and all attention will be where it is due! :)

I have experience and am comfortable with children from the ages of 6months and up. I have no kids of my own, but I do have 3 nieces (6months, 6 and 9) and two nephews (5 and 12). I have taken care of each one of them majority of their lives and have been recommended by family, friends and previous employers.

Not only will I treat your children as if they were my own kin, I will create a positive atmosphere to feel as if we already were including active and educational fun!

"I needed a little help getting ready to go back to work from maternity leave. As a single mom, finding and trusting someone with my kids was a bit daunting at first but honestly, Miss Kensley made my transition back to work so smooth. She even helped me get them situated with school and daycare until my sister came into town. (Ps, she never asks for anything, so please treat her well) Blessings."

"I needed a nanny for a few months and she was the perfect fit. let me tell you, she could cook her a** off!!! She would prepare meals for the children as requested, but would leave extra for me and my husband to enjoy. I think we needed a nanny more than the kids sometimes."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered at The Children's Museum of Atlanta for 3 years due to my background with children. My position at the museum was to spend time with the kids, maintain a clean area for them, and to assist the children and parents with anything they may have needed.

Whilst volunteering, I loved sitting, talking with the children and learning from them! I've gotten to know several parents and ended up babysitting for quite a few of them. My way of showing appreciation is always by making conversation and being receptive to learning new things every day.

I began taking care of children at the early age of 11 and have continued to do so ever since. Children have pure hearts and you can learn a lot from them, just by listening and being understanding.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some indoor activities I love doing with the children are arts and crafts which may include, drawing, coloring, painting, etc! Allowing a child to express themselves creatively releases pent up energy and emotions. This is my favorite safe place for them!

I also enjoy playing games such a Simon says, red light green light, hand games such as patty cake or slide baby slide, playing with dolls, dancing and so much more.

Some outdoor activities I enjoy to do with the children may include racing, bike riding, jumping rope, swimming, and anything else they may want to do to let loose!

I also LOVE to incorporate educational games that would help them improve with things they may be struggling with as I also have experience as a children's tutor. :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

is making sure the children are having fun safely while the parents take the time they need whether It's working, date night, or if they simply just need a self-care day!

I know that some children dislike the idea of having a nanny or babysitter, but I want to be able to show them that its not all that bad. :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments.. hmm.. there are so many honestly!

I'd say it was when I taught two children I was watching at the time about the egg drop experiment. With parents' permission of course, we used an egg and built a contraption that would save the egg from cracking open from an elevated yet safe drop.

This activity was one of the best,= that I've done with the children. It showed their creativity with just a teeny bit of help from me. ;)
