A little bit about me

Hello! I am Keven, a male nanny/babysitter who has been working with elementary aged children for over seven years. I’ve worked as a summer camp counselor every summer since I was 16 & currently am a certified assistant teacher at a Private Montessori school. I’ve also coached youth basketball and babysat/nannied for several families over the years. While I have nannied for families who had daughters, I really thrive for families with boys, as they look to me as a role model/big brother, in addition to the job title.

I am finishing up my college degree online at Florida Atlantic University, and am looking to relocate. I enjoy sports, music, being active, and trying new things. I’m always up for a challenge. I also have a personal training certification and valid CPR certification. Health and well-being are very important to me and I try to incorporate that when I’m with the kids. I also have experience with children with special needs (autism, cerebral palsy, type I diabetes, ADHD).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Any kind of sport! Specifically baseball, basketball, football and soccer. Swimming is also very fun if there is pool access. Of course, there are also indoor activities such as crafts, board games, and movie nights! I try to stay away from video games and TV unless permitted by the parents.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While I am by no means an expert in any of the following, I do have experience with these special needs and understand the patience and medication needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This happened at my summer camp a few years ago... A special needs camper with Autism never played sports with the other boys, but one day, he joined in a soccer match and scored the winning goal! He was so happy and the other kids congratulated him. It felt good to be his counselor.
