A little bit about me

Hello! I'm a 24-year-old woman looking for a full-time nannying position. After a long journey of Early Education courses, I changed my major to social work. I've recently graduated from EMU with my BSW. In the fall I'll be attending UofM to obtain my MSW in Children's Clinical Therapy. I am extremely passionate about the total well-being of children, and being a part of the village that raises them.

My experience with children ranges from infants to teenagers allowing me to have full range patience and a diverse perspective on children's safety, development, and learning goals. However, I've spent most of my time working with infants and toddlers at my hometown's local preschool as the Lead Toddler Teacher. I also worked with toddlers (and preschoolers) during my time as a 'Jumpstart Literacy Instructor' for low income children in Chicago.

I practice kindness, patience, and empathy in my daily work while encouraging children to be independent, respectful, and loving.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was an assistant preschool teacher for years before becoming a lead teacher myself. After realizing teaching wasn't for me, I went in to youth social work. I'm now a social worker aspiring to be a children's clinical therapist. I'm currently interning at the Washtenaw Youth Detention Center. It is both difficult and extremely rewarding.
