I was a nanny for a family of four girls for four years. During covid I also had the opportunity to assist them with home learning, so I am very comfortable with teaching. I have spent many summers volunteering at the day care of domestic violence shelters. In addition, I have been a coach for many different kids sports camps.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As a former college athlete, I love being active and outside. Playing games with kids and getting them moving is something I really love. I also love teaching kids thing about science and nature. I have a BA in biology with a biomedical science focus, so any science based activity is lots of fun. I also love doing creative activities with kids. Drawing and painting are activities I enjoy myself and it is fun to share that with the kids. Crafts are also a great way to keep busy kids occupied, and they have a fun and rewarding time doing them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There was a day that I came into the room of the oldest girl in the family, and all fur kids were dressed exactly like me, they had paper apple watches on their wrists, their hair in braids, and other things I typically wear. They spent the whole day pretending to be me and it was so cute and funny. It made me realize how great our relationship was and that they really looked up to me.
