I have worked in several childcare centers in the past 10 years. 3 to be exact. I was lead teacher in 2 of those places and an aid in 1.
Before I graduated high school I helped volunteer as a junior leader for BGC (boys and girls club) for two summers.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going on walks/nature walks with children. I love to go many places such as the zoo, aquarium, parks, swimming pools and museums. I also love to take kids out to lunch or dinner and to get ice cream/snow cones. I also love art as I majored in it during high school. I’m big on art projects and doing chalk as well as cooking with the children and letting them help me with that. I love to make homemade ornaments and cards and cookies with them as well. Hands on activities are a must.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for children with Down syndrome and children that are autistic. Also children with ADHD/ADD. Every child is there own and they can do just as much as other children when it comes to going places and doing activities. Those children just do it in their own way and at their own time. I think it’s important to understand that and know when you take on that role such as caring for a child with those needs.
