Hey my name is Kimmy! I am 32 years old and freshly moved back to Cincinnati after living in Louisville for 10 years. I believe in the Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies of allowing self-motivated and guided play through the child's interests with a strong preference of natural materials and everyday household tools.

I have 10 years of professional childcare experience. I received my CDA for Infant/Toddler in 2018. I am CPR/First Aide certified. I have worked with children from 8 weeks to 6 years old. I was a professional nanny for 2 years managing a 2 and 5 year old and newly worked for a family with 3 children from 13 months to 4 years old for 4 years. I have worked in different environments such as multiple childcare centers, occasional babysitting for date nights and weekends, a Sunday school class, taught a Phonics and Music program, and as a Program Specialist where I was in charge of creating and implementing a learning curriculum for all the teachers.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy exploring the city we live in whether that is a more chill nature hike at a nearby park or an adventure to the library or museum. I strongly believe we learn through experiences and getting out to see how the world functions is very important at this young age.

I also enjoy setting up crafts and activities at home such as sorting pompoms, felt board cut outs, shaving cream on the table or making our own play dough. Every small activity is a learning experience.

My experience with special needs children...

Working in childcare centers I have worked with many different children, some with autism or ADHD, and some with needs such as type 1 diabetes and monitoring their glucose or a child with one arm. I am lucky to have been able to aid all these children and adapt myself to their needs.
