A little bit about me

Hi I am Kimmie! I am a sweet, conservative, Christian woman with 10+ years of childcare experience. I have been a full-time nanny for newborns, infants, toddlers, and school-aged children. I have experience with potty training and other learning milestones. I have traveled with families I worked for, done overnight stays, and even kept children I nannied for for a week at a time by myself while the parents travelled together. I have worked with children with varying disabilities, both physical and mental. I have worked as a pre-school teacher, Montessori teacher, and substitute teacher for all levels. I am a certified Nutritionist and health and wellbeing is important to me. I have voluntarily done light-house work while being a full-time Nanny. I have grocery shopped, prepared meals, driven children to and from school, planned play-dates, helped with homework, picked-out outfits, and basically have a vast array of experience in childcare.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Keeping children safe. Being a good role model and example. Being a safe place, a fun friend, but also being consistent with rules and teaching children about life by safely ‘doing’ life - example, learning to swim by getting in a pool, or ride a bike by getting on the bike, learning to not run with scissors, etc.

My experience with special needs children...

Autism. Down syndrome. Spina bifida. Sensory issues - overstimulated. Older child unable to walk, feed themself, use the bathroom, or other tasks.

The most important part about being a nanny...

That’s a tough question! I don’t think you can spend years with a child and have only one special, or favorite, moment. Too many moments to choose.
