A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Kimberlee Grogan, and I’m excited to share a bit about myself and my passion for caregiving. For the past 9 months, I’ve been a nanny in Atlanta, GA, caring for a baby girl from birth to 9 months old. This experience has been a wonderful reminder of how much I love nurturing little ones through singing, creative play, and fostering their development.

I’ll be returning to Duluth, MN, in April 2025 to be closer to family and to welcome a new role as a grandmother. As the proud mother of three grown boys, I bring years of hands-on parenting experience. In my early 20s, I was a full-time nanny, and more recently, I cared for my elderly father, further deepening my dedication to caregiving across generations.

Caregiving is truly in my blood, and I believe in creating nurturing, playful environments where children thrive emotionally and creatively. I am excited to continue making meaningful connections and supporting families during this next chapter of my journey.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently working as a nanny, a role that will conclude at the end of March 2025, and it has been a joyful reminder of my passion for nurturing children.

Throughout my life, caregiving has been central to who I am. While raising my three boys, I ran a daycare from my home, caring for children from infancy through elementary school. This experience taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and creating a nurturing, structured environment where children can thrive. Balancing both roles deepened my understanding of child development and strengthened my ability to build supportive relationships with families.

Earlier in my career, I spent a year as a full-time nanny in Boston, where I cared for three boys. This role shaped my approach to childcare, teaching me flexibility, creativity, and how to meet the unique needs of growing children through organized activities, learning, and play.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging children in activities that encourage their creativity and imagination. Whether it’s playing games, doing art projects, or reading together, I believe in supporting their interests and giving them opportunities to express themselves. Outdoor activities are also a big part of the fun—walking, hiking, and spending time at the beach are all great ways to connect with nature and stay active while letting their curiosity and energy shine.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building a genuine connection with the children and creating a safe, loving environment where they can grow and thrive. It’s about being someone they can trust, offering support, encouragement, and guidance through every stage of their development. Whether it’s through daily routines, helping them with challenges, or celebrating their successes, the role goes beyond just caring for their physical needs—it’s about nurturing their emotional well-being and being a constant source of positivity and stability in their lives.

My experience with special needs children...

Some of my favorite experiences have been working with special needs children. There’s nothing quite like the moment when you finally connect with them in a way that resonates—when something clicks, and they feel truly seen and understood. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch them light up, knowing that you’ve created a space where they feel special, included, and valued. That sense of connection, no matter how small, makes a lasting impact on both of us.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny was during my year in Boston, Massachusetts, caring for three boys. One of the boys didn’t think he’d make the Little League team, but he worked hard and gave it his all. I’ll never forget the look on his face when he hit a home run in one of his games—it was a huge accomplishment for him, and seeing his confidence soar in that moment was incredibly rewarding. It reminded me how much impact encouragement and belief can have on a child.
