I have personal experience caring for children with special needs. I have spent a lot of time helping to care for my brother and my younger cousin, who is autistic. This has taught me patience, understanding, and the importance of creating a calm, supportive, and structured environment. I’ve learned how to be attentive to individual needs, communicate with care, and adapt activities so children feel comfortable, included, and safe.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was playing hide-and-seek with the kids. They chose the most obvious hiding spots—like under a clear glass table or behind a curtain with their little feet sticking out—but I played along as if I had no idea where they were. I made a big show of “searching” and acted super surprised each time I found them.

Their laughter and pure excitement made the whole moment so special, and it reminded me how important it is to be playful, patient, and fully present when spending time with children.
