A little bit about me

My name is Kirsten and I am in college pursuing my bachelors degree as a Speech Language Pathologist. I have my Early Childhood Preschool Certification and have worked in many schools and day cares. I am wonderful at conflict resolution and am able to keep calm and patient in any situation! I am also CPR certified. I have previously nannied a five year old boy who was on the spectrum and his older brother; along with working in many different ASD and special education classrooms, so I am very comfortable with special needs children. I received my ECPC and am a certified preschool teacher, I had four years experience as a student teacher in both special education classrooms and other classrooms.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really enjoy doing hands on activities that don't involve a lot of technology. I enjoy playing outside with them as well as setting up activities we can do such as painting, puzzles and more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part is being a positive influence on that child's life. Being the person to lift that child up and make them confident, happy, kind and strong.

My experience with special needs children...

Mostly children with ASD, but I have also worked with children who have Cerebral Palsy. I am getting a lot of experience with special education from my major.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the best moments was when I was doing a lesson plan making crystal hearts. It was one of my first lesson plans and I had set it up so meticulously without realizing that the age group was only four year olds. They took a long time to set the project up and it was very difficult not to knock everything over before we were done. It was me versus fifteen four years old. I was smiling and giggling the whole time though. At the end, almost everyone was covered in some red food dye.
