Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Nannying for a family for about three years. Started when their son was almost 3 and they had a baby a couple years into having me as well. I also met a lot of people through them and helped our babysitting for other family members of theirs and friends.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
For outdoor activities I love walks and park trips. An occasional trip to an indoor play place is always fun and good for them too! Also a big hit is any water play. Whether that’s a water table, pool, beach, sprinklers or even just running under the hose. Also a lot of the paint/crafts I like to take outside for mess purposes lol. Indoor activities I try to get the children to use their pretend play skills. Whether that’s with action figures/dolls, play kitchen, or even using anything we find in the house to play with! For younger children I love any sensory play, music, and of course books!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a Nanny is making sure that the kids feel safe when they are with me. I want them to feel safe if we are out and about, or comfortable enough to talk to me.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked briefly with a a child on the spectrum. I just babysat a couple of nights. It was important to follow his lead because he had a very strict schedule
