More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Other than my own children and nieces and nephews. I come from a nursing back ground and at my last job I have worked with many children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
It all varies with the ages of children I would be caring for- babies - we will be looking into developmental toys and keep them engaged into those activities and reading books and some outdoor activities.
Toddlers - we do be reading and doing some indoor/outdoor activities that requires some sensory work, building, reading, and many other activities.
Young children- we may not have as many indoor activities as they do get bored at home but we can try to look into some indoor activities that maybe fun. Outdoor activities would be going to the parks and letting them enjoy what they love to do outside of their homes. We can also work on homework if needed and given from school or any other programs they may be in. We can get creative.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Be able to help most parents when it comes to their children. I know when I had my children it was difficult to find help and I would like to help parents and children grow.
My experience with special needs children...
For 19 years now - I have cared for my special needs child who is not going to college. He is developmentally delayed in reading and writing and have some paralysis or weakness on his left body due to the shunt he has in his brain. I have helped him with his daily activities in school to physical therapy and taught him how to wear clothes and many other things. At my previous job in mental health I have worked with children with Down syndrome.
The most important part about being a nanny...
As mom you have plenty of those sweet, funny and memorable moments which you would always want to cherish forever. There is never one memory that is better than the other. There all equal when it comes to children.

I babysat on normal basis for a couple of families till I was well into my 30's and still babysit for friends and family when needed. I have lived in the Sanford area for the past 43 years. Graduated High School in 1988 and went to Vocational College for Emergency Medical Technician in 1989. Graduated and passed State Exam and was licensed for 1 year, but due to law changes didn't pursue this field. I am willing to get re-certified in CPR and what is needed.
