Activities I enjoy doing with children...

With my major being English education I can imagine you expecting me to be a huge bookworm... and I am! I love reading and getting children engaged with the books of their choice and some of mine. Literature is fundamental to starting any other subject, such as math, science, and world studies... they all incorporate that skill. School can suck the life out of literature and although your little one might not be on that level yet, I'm excited to provide the tools to make reading fun again.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As an aspiring educator, I realize how important the next generation is. The reality is that some children that I have cared for will not be raised in a diverse community and the only interactions they will have with a person of color are with me. I aim to make my experience with each and every child special. Similarly to many adults, kids want to feel listened to and converse with. I didn't realize until getting into this field how much personality they come with and that's my overall favorite part!

My experience with special needs children...

I had the pleasure of working with the family of an 8-year-old boy diagnosed with high-functioning autism. My responsibilities were pick up, meal prep, homework help, and preparing for the night (brushing teeth and pajama time).
