More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My experience with childcare has included the simple babysitting for friends/family members, to working at Center for Child Development, which included caring for 5-7 children at once, then developing their social skills 1 on 1. My time there gave me experience with children ages 2-7. At this job I was playing games, preparing snacks and meals, nap time, helping in the bathroom ect. At the end of the day the kids who signed up, would get 1 on 1 time practicing social skills, how to express themselves properly without causing themselves or others harm, and lots of listening to how they feel. Giving them a safe space to express themselves without punishment, only explanation and information on what would make life easier for them.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I'm willing to do it all, from taking them to trampoline parks, to sitting in the house and reading. Whatever is expected by the parents I will do. I could just sit and talk with them all day, go on walks, draw, dance parties, anything they find fun and is appropriate.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I find it most important to respect boundaries. From the parents and the children. It's also super important to me to be present with the kids and active in their interests.

My experience with special needs children...

Most of my childcare experience has been with special needs children. I can do it all, I was trained to care for them and their needs, and relaying information about their day to parents.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment was probably also the saddest for me, a boy named James (5y/o) who was in my class, cried to his mom when he found out he was going to get a new teacher and that it was our last day he asked me, "will we always be best friends?" I didn't want to cry in front of him in the moment, so I told him I'll never forget him, but it brings tears to my eyes even today.
