A little bit about me

I am a first-year college student, currently attending College of DuPage and plan to go on to Benedictine University. I strive to keep an optimistic disposition and express gratitude in all things I do. Some of my strengths include adapting well to changing needs, taking on a leadership role, independence, creativity, and always being open to help others. In the past, I've worked in the restaurant business, which taught me how to take on responsibility, patience, respect, and communication. I have also worked as a caregiver and housekeeper for multiple families, having experience with ages ranging from 3-14 years old. I've also taken care of pets for families, as well. As a caregiver, I can provide transportation, prepare meals, create fun activities and entertainment, and take on a leadership role. I enjoy working with kids, as I grew up volunteering with my mom teaching Sunday school at my church.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

At just 11 years old, I became familiar with working with kids, as I volunteered with my mom to teach Sunday school at our church. Working with 3-8 year olds, I helped my mom out for three years helping her plan lessons, care for kids, and keep kids engaged with fun games and activities. I began as a caregiver at 15 years old, where I worked with two boys, ages 3 and 6. At 16, I began working in the restaurant business for almost a year, as a hostess. I enjoyed this job and it taught me a lot about having people skills, communication, optimism, responsibility, and patience. On the side, I was doing once or twice a week, babysitting 2 boys, ages 9 and 13. Over this past summer, I cared for another family, with two boys, ages 7 and 10, to earn a little more money before college. As I get a routine back down balancing school and personal activities, I decided I would love to add nannying back into my schedule!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really love to be outside in general, so going to the park, taking walks or bike rides, and playing games outside are usually my go to with kids. I also love to stay creative when planning activities for kids like trying new crafts, creating fun competitive games, going new places, or maybe just watching a good movie.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny for me would be staying actively engaged with the kids. I think a lot of the time, we tend to forget the importance of this and most people just want to sit on the couch with the kids and watch TV. Coming up with new and fun activities everyday keeps the children excited and getting the real happiness from life.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a little experience working with special needs, because my former neighbor and best friend had a brother with Down’s syndrome, who I was constantly around and I learned to work well with. Unfortunately, I have never specifically cared for a child with special needs as a caregiver, but I would definitely be more than willing to learn more and work for a family with a special needs child.
