Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have volunteered as a counselor and staff member at a camp in Butler, PA for over 10yrs now. And i have volunteered at church for nursery and junior aged programs since I was very young!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love outdoor activities, biking, going to the park, swimming, all those things. I also really enjoy baking and cooking with the kids and getting them involved with as much as possible to teach them not only valuable skills, but also how to work as a team and help out their family with tasks.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is teaching kids valuable lessons, like emotional regulation, showing appreciation and gratitude to those you love, learning to be aware of others feelings and encourage them, etc. As a nanny I am part of the team, which means helping the kiddos become good humans in the future!
My experience with special needs children...
I do have experience with special needs kids. I have watched children with Down syndrome, Crohns disease, and speech delays. I have also had experience with managing meds, both oral and injectable. And I am familiar and comfortable with special dietary needs as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think my favorite moment was when after finishing nannying for a family around 7 months later I got a text from the mom with a video of the little boy showing me my valentines day card he made and since then (2021) I have gotten a text or letter every valentines day, Christmas and birthday and when I'm back in town I get together with them for adventure days still 4 years later.
