More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve looked after children as long as I can remember. In school I was apart of an early childhood education program, and I was apart of a student led program that offered a hands on experience for childcare & teaching. I’ve taken courses and continued my training & education to learn technical teaching methods for each age group. I also have experience with working with a family long term with a special needs child and another child who i homeschooled both of them. I love the science & technical info behind child development but I also believe in connecting children to themselves and giving them space to grow. I ask age appropriate questions that promote internal growth and teach children how to express emotions in a healthy way. I emphasize on ideas that develop their humanity vs. encouraging robotic & monotonous behavior. I use real life situations for teaching common knowledge. I believe hands on methods and real life situations are the best ways to learn.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Reading, promoting imaginative play, using real life situations to teach, being in nature, encouraging creativity and art. I enjoy spending time with them and observing them as they experience life & seeing the world through their lens. I use lots of play techniques for teaching. I help cultivate life-long learners. Existence is a gift and I encourage each child I’ve encountered to live life thru a lens of celebration and gratitude.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Not only providing the care that is needed and required with each child by observing & learning who they are as humans, I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids. They are fascinating and I enjoy their presence &
perspective. Another important factor is being a voice speaking life into the future generation. Children are impressionable and there’s lots of noise in the world, I believe one of the greatest lessons is teaching a child - tbh really any human - how to trust themselves, how to properly communicate emotions & thoughts & reminding them everything they need they have access to within them. Last bit, as a nanny, understanding the role and impact that I have on a child’s life is a role I’ll never take for granted. I want every child to grow and become who they’re designed to become.

My experience with special needs children...
I don’t have any specific certifications or technical training with special needs kids. However, the most recent family I was with have 2 daughters, the youngest is special needs and once I understood how she saw the world and how her mind works, I was able to teach her in a way she understands. I also have been with a family on an as needed basis who’s child was physically impaired, I’m a caregiver at heart and will do everything possible to provide care tailored to each child’s needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh wow, I have so many but this story always makes me smile. I was a nanny for 3 young brothers once. One time during breakfast, the middle boy said “I like dinosaurs bc sometimes they are red and sometimes they are not red.” I don’t disagree, that’s valid lol.
