I worked as a nanny for a summer for a family with three kids ages 4 to 10. I also nanny/babysat a little boy who was about two years for about a year. I worked three years on and off for my churches childcare on Sundays and during the weeknights for classes. I also have my own baby who is almost a year and a half.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite things as a nanny and has also become one of my favorite things being a mom is little moments like reading books together and having conversations answering questions and just interacting with a child and letting them be curious. Another thing is letting kids come alongside and help you with day-to-day tasks like cleaning the kitchen or cooking or vacuuming. I love how the most mundane tasks can become such an adventure for young minds as they grow and experience new things.
