Coming from a very large, close-knit family, I was entrusted with the role of the babysitter from an early age. During family holidays, Sunday dinners, and various gatherings, it was an unspoken expectation that I would be the one to corral and entertain the younger children. This responsibility was not a burden; rather a role I embraced wholeheartedly, deriving immense joy from engaging with my younger cousins. I have always had a natural affinity for connecting with children, understanding their unique personalities, and tailoring my approach to captivate their attention and foster their development. Whether it was organizing games, storytelling, or simply providing a patient and attentive ear, I took pride in creating a warm and inclusive environment where the children felt safe, valued, and inspired.

Throughout high school, I actively participated in the Partners Club, fostering meaningful connections with my peers who had special needs. Since then, I have been fortunate to continue cultivating valuable relationships through various volunteering endeavors. Notably, I have contributed to Special Olympics events and assisted at a local speech therapy practice during their weekly "Parents Night Out" program. These diverse experiences have allowed me to interact with and support individuals with special needs ranging from 2 to 24 years old, enriching my understanding and appreciation for their unique perspectives and abilities.

Through my nanny experience, I've observed that children generally fall into two categories: those who instantly embrace you as a new friend, and those who are initially wary of the unfamiliar presence in their lives. I strive to make the transition as seamless as possible by being patient, understanding, and adapting to their unique personalities and needs. There is no greater reward than gradually earning the trust, approval, and respect of a child who was initially apprehensive. Seeing them open up and form a genuine bond is a truly fulfilling experience.
