Seeing how children's personalities develop as they learn about the world around us is beautiful and makes days a lot lighter. helping families and children grow as a unit is such a rewarding experience it is an experience that is truly unique and great.
My experience with special needs children...
When working for a previous family with 4 children, there was one child in the family with special needs. He is deaf and is on the autism spectrum. I have worked with children in both centers with physical and developmental delays. It was some of the best most rewarding experiences I had. It may take more time and patience, but it is helping the children navigate through their confusion, frustration, and few extra steps it may take.

The little boy I currently watch, he always loves listening to his parents record collection and his specificity with what he wanted to listen to before he was even two years old was always such a joy.
