I have taught visual art off and on since 2001, but have also done private and public tutoring, private art lessons, and summer camps (both for visual arts and outdoor activities). I have volunteered at church as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Making art, doing science experiments, cooking, gardening, caring for plants and animals, hiking, biking, playing in creeks, and discovering the world around us.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is being a safe, supportive adult in the lives of children. Helping them through their day and guiding them to greater growth.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked as a one-on-one aide as well as a special education substitute paraprofessional in schools. As a regular-ed classroom teacher I have had students with both IEP's and 504 plans that I have had to follow and make accommodations for. While not specifically trained in SPED, I do my best to work with children individually and help them achieve their highest potential.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Most of my kid experience has been in the classroom but just last week I had a kindergartener ask me, dead-serious, if I knew how to teleport, and if I could PLEASE help him do so! (He was tired at the end of the day and wanted to go home!)
