A little bit about me

Laila is currently working on her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Laila has experience working with children of all ages and has taught private flute lessons for upward of four years. She has played the flute and piccolo for 9 years and performs both solo and ensemble work. She is currently a part of the FAMU Marching 100 piccolo section and is principal flutist in one of the university's symphonic ensembles. Laila is a passionate musician and aspiring educator who believes her love of music is meant to be shared. She is most fulfilled sharing that passion with youth and children. Her life’s goal is to be the reason a child finds themselves through the love of music. In her free time, Laila also loves to perform in the theater and has a keen interest in creative writing and the culinary arts!
