More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in a daycare since December 2021 so I've had experience in ages 0-5 but was primarily in the 2/3 classroom! I was responsible for providing activities and making learning fun with curriculum. It taught me so much and have lots of tricks and skills up my sleeve!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anytime I can get kids outside I take the opportunity! I think it's great for kids to get some fresh air and play in the dirt that's how you learn. I think especially younger kids getting messy is how they learn. That being said I never let the learning or mess get out of control and always have the kids help clean up. Even if it's just taking a papertowel to the table. I try to make learning fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My number one goal working with children is that they will feel safe with me no matter what. My freshman year in high school there was a school shooting and I was scared to go back. It took a long time for me to feel safe again and I think no child EVER should feel that way. That will always be my number one priority: the safety of your babies!!

My experience with special needs children...

My mom is a special education teacher and for the longest time growing up I thought I was going to follow in her footsteps. I have taken college courses on special education, I have shadowed and have had an internship in special needs classrooms, as well as worked with a child with autism and ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This will be my first time with the job title as nanny but as a teacher my favorite moment was this sweet little boy who has such a special place in my heart. But he was high energy and it was a long and stressful day but I try not to let that get the best of me. I know children feed off your energy but he had saw a picture of my husband and I on my phone and it was on our wedding day. I was in my wedding dress, he looks at me and says, "Oh Mrs. Lainey you look like a princess" it absolutely melted my heart and reminded me of why I love what I do!
