Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing crafts with children like painting, edible playdough making, sticker decorating, and paper pasting. I've attended process art trainings for daycare providers and it was a big part of my curriculum when I was a toddler teacher. For infants, I enjoy doing sensory activities like water toy play, and making sensory bins for them to feel and explore different textures with. This also helps develop their fine motor skills. For infants/toddlers, I find that they love when you sing and read books to them, too. For older kids, I like to invite them to do hobbies with me like supervised diamond painting, clay art, felting, jewelry making, puzzles, or card/board games. Some other activities I love to do is singing simple, fun songs like Five Little Monkeys, doing Danny Go dances like the Wiggle Dance, making forts, exploring nature through scavenger hunts, and playing outside is a must! I think it's important kids spend time outdoors, so I like going to the park/playground, too!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My first priority as a nanny is that the child is safe and supervised. I am never on my phone or being distracted by something when I am taking care of children. I think the number one reason why accidents and injuries occur is because of a lack of supervision.

As a kindergarten teaching assistant, I am in charge of teaching the kids the letters of the alphabet, how to write, sound out words, and eventually read. One day, a group of my students was finally ready to move on to reading their very first book. Although it took a lot of help, they eventually all reached the last page and closed their books. I was so excited to tell them that they had just read their very first book in class! All their faces began beaming with huge smiles as they exchanged glances with each other realizing what they had just done! I gave each of them a sticker as I explained how proud I was of them. It made me realize how blessed I was to be able to experience this with them. Something I thought was so simple was such an important milestone in their lives, and I truly cherished being apart of it.
