More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been working with children for the past 12+ years.
I have spent the last few years as an in home nanny to several families, one at a time, working with infants from 6 weeks+. I love getting to know each individual baby and their family while having a hand in her development.
Before that, I worked for a nanny agency, where I would work with a different family everyday. This was great experience to meet and work with a bunch of different families, and children of all ages.
Apart from that, I have worked in daycares and preschools. I have also worked in many camp and residential programs. As well as babysitting and nannying for little ones since I was eleven years old, and love it.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Working with children to reach developmental mile stones is very rewarding for me. The babies I currently working with are learning to roll over and I have so much fun reading and singing during tummy time to encourage this.
I love getting children outside. Exploring nature by going on a walk, playing in the yard, or finding a near by park are some of my favorite activities to engage children in.
For slightly older children, love helping them explore their more creative side, by bringing out arts and crafts. I don't mind letting children get a bit messy, while they have fun and learn, and spending extra time cleaning up.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure children feel safe and comfortable when their primary care givers (usually parents) are not around is my main priority. Getting to know the children and having fun with them is a great way to build rapport and allow for a trust to be formed between the two of us.
I was raised with a love first mindset and bring that to my work with children. I know that behavior is communication and I work hard to meet all the needs of the littles one I am working with

My experience with special needs children...
Working for an Outdoor School program, we cared for groups of 6th graders and high schoolers in a camp-like setting. There, I was the liaison between children that had special needs, along with their families, and the program. It was my job to make sure that they felt comfortable and all their need were met before and during their time with the program.

Watching children explore the world is amazing. I love discovering it right along side them. I love seeing children reach to achieve miles stones, and be proud of themselves each step of the way, I’m proud right along with them!
