I have seen some truly remarkable moments occur from one simple art-n-crafts project, more specifically we were making a felt/beaded/string turkey for thanksgiving and a boy, age 7, was getting short tempered and frustrated at a part of the project that seemed to be giving him trouble. After a moment, I stooped next to him, and asked him if everything was okay?He proceeded to tell me he couldn't tie the knot at the end of the string for the turkeys beaded leg. What did I do you ask? I simply told him well that's how we all learn new things, right? I offered to take a deep breath with him and then we shook it off with a good giggle and I broke the steps down into a way he could understand what he needed to do to accomplish the finished knot. I want to help kids to grow and learn and flourish to be the best they can be!

I started babysitting when I was ten for family friends and I would volunteer at my grandmas child care at her church ranging for new born to 6 years old and I did then when I was ten-13. I have also been a teacher aid for after school programs and preschools. I helped raise a child in my early 20’s from new born-years old.
