More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Growing up, I volunteered at my church to help care for children from infants to 5 years old. I started babysitting at around 14 years old and had my first nannying position the summer prior to my freshman year of college. My senior year of high school, I got to work along side my old 2nd grade teacher to help make lesson plans and learn what it's like to have similar responsibilities of a teacher. I became CNA certified during the summer of 2020, and then helped care for a friends triplet infants for over a year. I have worked in 4 child care centers since 2018 (due to moving states) and am pursuing my bachelors degree in elementary education.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to make blanket forts to read under. Crafts have always been a favorite past time for me, so It has always been a blast to facilitate different crafts for the children in my care. I am a well-seasoned swimmer and have previously watched four kids in the pool over the summer, so I am comfortable supervising children in the water. I love museums, parks, and the zoo and it would be so fun to take children to explore. Helping children learn to take care of themselves with basic tasks is not only fun but important. Using age-appropriate lessons, teaching children to put their dirty clothes in the hamper to helping pick out a well-balanced meal is an important aspect of being a care giver.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Ensuring that each child in your care is cared for like your own child. Having fun is an important part about being a nanny, however, the children's saftey is of top concern. Providing balanced love and care to children of all ages as well as ensuring the safety of the child at all times.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have too much experience working with higher challenged special needs, but am always willing to learn and provide care all the same, as everyone deserves to play, learn, and be loved.
The most important part about being a nanny...
A few summers ago, I was caring for 4 children, aged 3 to 9 years old. It was finally warm enough to turn on the sprinklers and run around in bathing suits. I went out and bought a "top tier" slip n' slide and invited a couple neighbor kids over to play. We had an outdoor picnic for lunch, played some music and enjoyed the weather and company of friends.
