A little bit about me

My name is Lexi Martin. I am twenty years old and attending Texas A&M University. In high school I was extremely involved, so many families were familiar with me making nannying/babysitting arrangements frequently. I have 3 siblings and huge families on both my moms and dads sides, so I have A LOT of cousins at every age. I love kids, and I am excited to meet new families and contribute to a happy and caring household. I have pet care experience as well and I am happy to help out with animals as well. My goal as a child caregiver is to help kids find a comfortable routine with lots of fun and activities involved. I recently worked for a family in college station. They had one child who was 1 year old. I helped them out from March 2025 through September 2025.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My most recent vacation was to care for a cute family with a 1 year old boy this past year. Another family i worked with had a 5 year old girl and a 7 year old girl. I was responsible for them Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm. They had three dogs and a swimming pool. When they would leave town, I stayed at there house and took care of their dogs and any other requests they had. I have no problem picking up/dropping off anytime. I have been hired by multiple families over the past 7 years, and really enjoy spending my time with kids of all ages. I took a child development class my junior year of high school, and I have also had a job as a lifeguard during summer each year.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I played many sports in high school and enjoyed staying busy and involved. I love to go do activities like the zoo, park, trampoline park, and really just anything the kids might enjoy occasionally. As far as everyday activities, I like to read books, play with side walk chalk, do crafts, and bake. I like to let the children suggest ideas or pick from a few options I think of to make sure we are spending our time together wisely.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is to find the balance between fun and responsible. I think that it is crucial to keep the children/child occupied and entertained with minimal technology. I also know when to say no to ideas out of my comfort zone by suggesting similar activities that I know would be safer. I think that part of having fun can involve making a mess, but this helps the kids learn to clean up after themselves with help/ encouragement from me. I try to prioritize my strategy of leading by example.
