Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience as a Youth Development Professional working with kids grades K-6. I also have experience working as a Special Education Intervention Assistant where I have worked with Preschool Infants, as well as, with students in Adult Transition programs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging children in activities that foster their social, emotional, and learning development. Some of my favorite activities include interactive storytelling to enhance language skills and emotional understanding, creative arts and crafts for self-expression and fine motor skills, and group games that promote teamwork and social interaction. I also incorporate emotional regulation activities like mindfulness exercises, educational puzzles and games to stimulate cognitive growth, and outdoor exploration to learn about the environment and promote physical well-being. These activities provide a fun, engaging experience while supporting essential areas of development.

My experience with special needs children...

A majority of my experience has been working with children on the spectrum. My placements have been with mod/severe classes. Therefore, I am equipped to manage challenging behaviors. I also have experience working with older adults who are cognitively disabled. Because of this, I am very comfortable with accommodating to any physical disabilities and am prepared to assist with feeding, toileting, etc.
