The most important part about being a nanny is providing a safe space for all children when their parents aren’t immediately available. It is my absolute priority to ensure the safety of every child under my supervision. The arts and crafts is simply a plus to the job.
My experience with special needs children...
I have many experiences with special needs children but I primarily have experience working alongside autistic children, each with different levels of needs. I also have experience since I was a teenager babysitting my autistic family member. This has given me a much better understanding of how to properly meet the needs of a special needs child while providing them opportunities to learn and grow the same way I would with any other child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have sooo many favorite memories from babysitting and teaching kids. One of my absolute favorite memories is a student in my class singing a song about my car (since it was often parked along the playground fence.) It went, “Miss Lila’s red car! Miss Lila’s red carrr!”
