I'm currently a college student working on my psychology degree with a background in sociology and philosophy.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at The Little Red Barn located in Murrieta California over a summer break before moving away to college. We focused on no technology everything was hands on and as we liked to say, imaginative play. This is a beneficial part of a child's growth and development. A lot of the toys were wooden. Everything was cleaned and sterilized with non toxic cleaners that were natural and safe for children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love puzzles and art I love anything that engages the child to use there imagination. I love outdoor play where children can use their imagination to crate things or build things or pretend to be whatever it is they would like to be. . Legos and dolls are great ways to see how children use there minds with creativity, passion, and cleanliness.

I know that it's 2021 and some children have technology. And that is perfectly okay. If the children have a regular routine that is something I can completely work with. I'm not afraid to be assertive and tell them no when it's time to cut out electronics or being put down for naps or to move on to something else that they do not necessarily want to leave alone.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My biggest goal would be to make sure the parents can come home to a clean home and happy children. I would love to help parents de stress as much as possible by helping out at home

My experience with special needs children...

Besides children who have played at The Little Red Barn, I've never really watched a special needs child unless they were family.

My biggest experience was back in highschool, we attended the special Olympics where we engaged with special needs kids and built trust, friendship, and comradery. It was amazing to see them smile and it was heartwarming to see them open up.

I know its not always sunshine and happiness I've seen it and I've been around it but l love helping and I'm a very fast learner.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment is when I'd be with a child who was standoff-ish and didn't want to engage with me at all. This specific kid had a hard time communicating and expressing emotions. He detached himself from all the other kids and staff and before the end of the day he became my little shadow. He was able to express his needs and concerns to me. He wanted to play with me and he trusted me to hold his toys and to play with others.
