More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I did babysitting for a year back in Texas, and also worked at a child's entertainment place called Main Event for 2 years. At Main Event I helped run events including mini golf, arcade games, gravity ropes, and laser tag. I have learned through this how to keep kids entertained, happy, and safe all at the same time!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities that I would do with the children include arts and crafts, I have helped out in classrooms giving me ample knowledge on different kinds ranging from painting, paper cutting crafts, colouring, and nature collages. I would also be taking the kids out to go on walks, hang out at the park, ride bikes, or interact with nature.
My experience with special needs children...
I volunteered for 4 years at my high school to work with the special needs department. During this time I became a student aide meaning I would assist them in certain classes go with them on field trips to help, and volunteer at any events that they hosted for them. This gave me a lot of knowledge on how to interact with kids with special needs and gave me a better understanding on how to support them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is bittersweet. It was when I was leaving Texas to move to Philadelphia and a kid that I had babysat for 6 months at that point asked me not to go because they would miss me to much. It reminded me why I love being a babysitter so much and why I got into doing it in the first place.
