A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Lindsey. I have been in a position with a toddler, 16 months, for the past 7 months. So I have recent experience working with diapers, bottles, purées and solids as well as keeping a schedule and hitting developmental milestones. I was a nanny for 5 years for the same family. The youngest, 10 has special needs, so I am used to dealing with big emotions and having to have a plan and activities but to also having to switch up that plan based on moods. The other child was 13. I am cpr certified, first aid/AED certified (Adult, child and Infant) and SIDS certified. I have a Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Children’s Literature. Most of my courses were in elementary education. When I nanny someone else's children, I treat them the way I would want my own children treated. I follow the rules set by the parents and don’t like screen time. I like to play outside, listen to music, do fun projects and read. I look forward to hearing from you!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is communication and collaboration. I believe that as a nanny, you need to tell the parents everything that happened during your time, the good and the bad. For example, if you accidentally forgot to do something or made a mistake own it and try to find resolution.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a nanny to a child with special needs for 5 years!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments are when the child understands a concept you have been working on them with. For example, one of the children I nannied had a problem with getting dressed and it was such a joy to watch her eyes light up when she finally got her shirt on for the first time by herself.
