A little bit about me

Hello! I am Lindsey Gaona, 19 years old. I currently (during school year) live in Lawrence as a freshman at KU. I am studying psychology then plan on getting my MSW, and going straight to working with kids.
I am able to sit in either Lawrence or Olathe at the time, but am wanting to nanny in the summer, preferably in Olathe.
More about me! I love to craft, and would love to make something for or with your kid. I always have music playing! Another hobby I enjoy but don’t partake in enough is simply reading. I love taking trips to random and new parks or gardens with my boyfriend, especially to have a picnic and build legos! Most of my high school time I was a manager for my high school’s wrestling team as it is my favorite sport along with being my families main sport. My ideal day is a cozy rainy afternoon, tucked in a thick blanket, and surrounded by candles.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have babysat and volunteered in child care since 2017. Since 2023, I have worked at Country Kids Daycare, with ages 2mo up to 5th grade. I work primarily in 2mo-11mo, and I would consider that my “specialty”. Over the summer of 2025 I was a nanny for an 8yo & 11yo for 3 months.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I work primarily with infants, so I typically just watch them play with their favorites! I of course will bounce them, help them with crawling, pulling up, or walking, and my favorite; lots of cuddles! For older kids I’m down for whatever they’re wanting, but love to do indoor crafts or go to the pool.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The kids! I love watching them learn and grow into their personalities, and I love to be a person they know they can count on in their life.

My experience with special needs children...

I think we all have our own ways and requirements, every kid is different. I don’t have much experience, but would approach every opportunity open minded.

The most important part about being a nanny...

At daycare, any and all day I get with my infants. A specific moment is when I got one of my kids to crawl for the first time, only because she was chasing me for my bag of chips❤️
