A little bit about me

Genuine professional who is patient, kind, fun & silly. I value and respect children as individuals. I have been a Nanny for 25 years with extensive expertise in the first 5 years of Early Childhood Development - especially the newborn through 24 months stage. I use Connection Centered/Positive Discipline, the Montessori Method & focus on learning through play that is child led. My approach to child & family care is holistic, loving & inclusive. We will explore the world together moment by moment, learning to master a wide variety of skills, manners, concepts, social interactions, taking DAP risks while we sing, laugh, get creative, attend classes, exploring our surroundings, & doing mundane tasks.

I am happy to pitch in around the house, incorporating some Family Assistant duties in addition to the highest quality childcare to help make your adult lives easier as well.

I am only interested in a Private position, 3-3.5 days a week, 32hrs max. Early start times are very desirable!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Early in my Nanny career, while also still attending Towson Uni I was a Early Childhood Instructor for Gymboree Play and Music centers. I conducted classes movement and skill classes for newborns through 4 years old, conducted music and yoga classes for a total of 4 years. I also occasionally did birthday parties.

Additionally, I worked as a substitute for Baltimore County Public Schools for several years as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Cooking, hiking/walking, exploring museums, crafting, science experiments/STEM activities, reading and story times at local libraries, painting/sidewalk chalk/drawing, gardening, building, getting them involved with cleaning and organizing, grocery shopping, and laundry in age appropriate ways. My goal is always to include them as competent, capable, curious individuals throughout the day as a normal part of daily life. A balance of fun and carefree childhood freedom as well as basic life skills that we all need to hone over time.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a Nanny is a sacred responsibility to me. One that I adore and that have profound respect for. I get to come into a family's life at a tremendous moment of change, excitement, stress and redefinition. I get to help the parents learn and grow as well as the sweet children I am entrusted with!
