"Lisa watched our children from babies to age 3. She was engaging with the kids all the time from singing, crafting, and playing to teaching them colors, numbers and manners. Lisa also helped with some basic housework and cooking dinners for us. She was wonderful for our family."

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as an educator for OCM BOCES for 20 years . I co taught the early childhood program. It was a laboratory pre school program 3 days a week where I taught high school aged 10th-12 grade. We worked on curriculum for the pre-k program as well as how to care for, and set up learning centers and work with the 4 and 5 year olds pre-kindergarten children most students went on to earn their education degrees, or child care certificates. I also have worked with private families (over the summer months) and their children , for over 30 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy staying
active .and I live a healthy lifestyle, Thus , I encourage children in Outdoor activities, walking , art activities , biking , swimming and hikes. . Not all children learn the same way , therefore, I meet them where they’re at in their stage of development, and I allow them to show me what is most interesting and inspiring to them ! library story
Times , are a fun and engaging way to teach children about reading as well as books , I enjoy engaging children with indoor art activities, as well as music, Dance and reading ! I believe the theory that children learn through play,.and children learn at their own pace in a stress free environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Some of the most wonderful things I’ve learned in life , has been through the eyes of a child .
My experience with special needs children...
Working in a large school district for so many years with a diverse population of students, (which included special needs students ) , has allowed me the opportunity to work with and teach children with Downs syndrome, ADD, ADHD , severe and mild Behavioral problems , as well as Children with Autism and Developmental Disabilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I had the gift a few years back, of being able to witness ( the 3 year old little girl I was nannying) become a big sister for the first time . Watching her go from being an only child to a big sister was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had being a nanny ! It was almost magical!

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Syracuse, NY: Claire D.
I have more than 15 years experience providing childcare, have a background in education and student disability services, & just truly love kids. After being laid off from my corporate role and having a tough time in this job market, I’ve decided to switch gears and would love to connect with a family looking for a trusted, reliable caretaker. I would be happy to do fun outings, as well as planning activities to do at home! Have a pool? I have worked as a lifeguard and have even taught swim lessons.
In full transparency, I love my dog (a sweet Newfoundland mix who loves kids) & feel immense guilt leaving her home all day. I would ideally like to provide care in my Baldwinsville home (a cozy ranch with NO stairs) in a quiet, low traffic neighborhood, but am also open to your home or a combination of both! I am also open to performing light house work in your home.
If you’re looking for a well educated, responsible, safe, creative, & fun caretaker for your child[ren], let’s connect!
