More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a daycare aid from 2006 to 2010. It was a home day care and she emphasize on education. I then cared for disabled adults after the daycare owner passed away from lupus.
I began a home babysitting service from 2013 to 2016. The children I watched were under the age of 10. I cared for my three children alone after my divorce, also still caring for his son until he was an adult. I now enjoy caring for my two autistic toddler grandsons.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Art. anything from making small crafts to paintings.
I remember every weekend taking my children somewhere, skating, recreation centers bounce houses anything to see them enjoy life.
I like to find events on marketplace and take my grandson's.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It is following the rules of the parents. No matter how many children I raised, these are not my children and the child's parents knows what's best for them.

My experience with special needs children...

Both of my grandsons have autism. As we know, autism comes in many forms and they both have their own challenges.
I want to note something that has stayed on my mind for decades. One day while I was searching for a daycare in my New area I went into a daycare center and seen a child that was about five years old in a swing just still.
At that time I didn't know anything about autism. I asked them why was this child in a swing, she responded he's retarded he doesn't know any different. Something along those lines. I remember the next morning calling child protective services and not even a month later driving by the now permanently closed daycare.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I remember the four year-old that I babysit at my home. I taught him this song, well at least the course "[phone number hidden]" The next day his mom asked me what was he singing, she had not heard of that song. Since he remembered those numbers I started turning everything that I taught him into a song. He loved music just like me.
