A little bit about me

I am an experienced caregiver and educator looking to work with one family on a regular basis. I have seven years of experience working with children and I’m becoming a certified teacher for grades 5–9. I recently earned my BA in Geosciences from Florida Atlantic University (August 2024).

I’ve worked as a special education paraprofessional, zoo camp educator, guest educator, and environmental educator. I offer homework help and tutoring in ELA, Science, Social Studies, and Math (up to middle school level). I also assist with light housekeeping, errands, pet care, and school pickups/drop-offs.

I believe in encouraging children to balance screen time with real-world experiences. Many kids today experience what is called the "extinction of experience," where virtual interactions replace real-world discovery. If you're interested, I’d love to arrange personalized field trips to parks, museums, and nature preserves to enhance your child’s learning. At the same time, I understand that some children thrive with online learning, particularly those who are neurodiverse or have behavioral challenges. I am flexible and adapt to each child’s unique needs to create a supportive and enriching experience.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with special needs children in both inclusive and self-contained units, supporting profoundly intellectually disabled students at Ridgeview Elementary [phone number hidden]). In the self-contained unit, I assisted with daily routines, adaptive learning, and behavioral support. In inclusive classrooms, I worked one-on-one and in small groups to ensure students received the necessary accommodations.

I collaborated with teachers to tailor instruction, provided critical observations and feedback, and helped create a structured, supportive environment. My role required patience, flexibility, and a deep commitment to meeting each child’s unique needs. This experience strengthened my skills in differentiation, behavioral support, and individualized learning strategies, helping students thrive academically and socially.
