Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoor: building forts, playing tag, hide and go seek, age appropriate board games, creating stories with their toys, reading books with interesting voices and checking for comprehension, making slime.
Outdoor: exploring trails nearby, finding “trail treasures” like interesting rocks, acorns or insects etc, playing in the snow, splashing in puddles, riding bikes, going to parks, getting our feet wet in a creek, using chalk to create racing paths on their driveway and sidewalk, creative story play.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Nannies are an important member of the parenting team. They represent the parent’s wishes, carry out any directions and are responsible with their time, the home and any duties assigned. They bring a sense of fun, laughter, trust, joy as well as personal respect into the home. They prove to the parent’s they can be trusted to be punctual and reliable. They prove to the children they can be trusted to handle emotions and different situations with a level caring heart that is devoid of anger. The nanny is the children’s emotional and physical guide while the parents are away. They grow with the children and help build a sense of capability through encouraging during struggles and celebrating mastering age appropriate challenges. The child feel supported, safe and loved.
My experience with special needs children...
Group childcare experience caring for children experiencing cerebral palsy, autism, blindness, severe allergies, learning disabilities and aggression issues. This was in a group setting that requires giving them special consideration while also maintaining safe and fun atmosphere for the rest of the children as well. They were in my care for a max of three hours each time.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me my favorite times are a result of the deep trusting bond that forms over time. I love watching their personality grow in an atmosphere where the child feels supported, capable, significant, loved and respected.
