i love doing outdoor and indoor activities. reading books to children, doing logical games that boost brain function, hide and seek, anything that captivates the child/childrens interest.
The most important part about being a nanny...
being a nanny comes with all sorts of challenges. i feel as if the childs safety and comfort are the first priority at all times. i also believe in boosting brain function with critical thinking games, boosting cognitive function with matching games, or simple word games depending on the childs age. a well taken care of child is not only about looking after them, it is also about building a connection and building trust with the family as well.
My experience with special needs children...
while i do not have much experience dealing with special needs children. i have autism, i am high functioning fortunately, but i am able to understand children that suffer with autism a bit better than your typical nanny. as for any other special needs categories. i believe it is a learning curve, and i am ready, willing, and able to learn.
The most important part about being a nanny...
a sweet memory i have with nannying children was actually with my mothers childhood friends kids. they were both very sleepy (2 y.o. boy and 6 y.o. girl) i read to them, and they both fell asleep in my arms. that is the moment i fell in love with taking care of children. there is simply something so beautiful about children and the way that they have no worries in the world. how peaceful they look as you read their favorite story to them. they’re truly the most beautiful beings on this earth.
