A little bit about me

I’m a 17 year old senior in highschool. I have two siblings of my own, who I’ve been taking care of since I was 10. I’ve taken care of them by myself when both my parents are at work, which gave me the responsibility of taking care of the house as well. I can cook light meals, clean any space or room, sweep, mop, vacuum, do laundry, pet sit, entertain, and help your child/ children with homework. I have been a straight A student in English for all of my school years, and very good with math. I won’t be driving until I’m 18, so unfortunately I can’t take your children anywhere on car. I have reliable transportation so I can be dropped off as far as 10 to 15 from my home. If you will be dropping them off at my house they can play and learn with my little sister and brother, who are very outgoing, kind, and energetic. My sister has a collection of toys at home, and we have many iPads and snacks here as well. Their ages are 8 and 14. I have weekend availability & some weekdays as well.

I did volunteer work at my sister’s school. It was the after school program. It required me to watch multiple children in grade school- ages 7 to 12- for multiple hours. I was responsible for feeding them snacks, helping them with homework, reading with them, and encouraging them to make friends. I’d wait until their parents would pick them up, and stay with them until so.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to read with my sister, and we often nap together. I walk her to the park, and we usually go on picnics or eat snacks on the grass. Me and my brother play basketball with our hoop in our backyard and play video games together. When my nieces are over and I’m babysitting, they love it when I braid their hair or paint their nails.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being responsible and making sure the child/children are always safe and well taken care of. I think you need to be extra careful with what you say or your actions because children follow off examples. Most children are different and that should be respected, so the child can feel welcomed when you’re with them.
