I have been a full-time nanny, part-time babysitter, after school care provider (30+ kids at a time), teacher's assistant (elementary music and kindergarten classrooms), Sunday school teacher (usually toddlers, sometimes infants or preschool), summer camp counselor, and summer camp arts and crafts director.

I am very child-led, so I am usually up for anything. I can plan a day in advance or go with the flow if that is preferred, depending on age.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of my job is ensuring the safety and well-being of children, of course, but this includes nurturing them in a way that teachers them love and kindness. I believe that kind parents, teachers, and caregivers create kind kids.
My experience with special needs children...
I babysat a nonverbal autistic school-aged girl for a few years on and off. I have also been a one-on-one helper to a four-year-old with Down Syndrome when needed at church. Other than that, I have worked in broader settings with children with a number of diagnoses and needs, but I am willing to learn.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I first started watching my most recent nanny kid (now six years old), she would cry when I showed up, but now, she cries almost every day when I have to leave.
