Hello, I’m a mom and experienced nanny. I started nannying in 2002 and have been involved with nannying/childcare ever since. I took a break in 2012 to teach yoga and travel, and returned when found I was expecting my daughter in 2017 in order to be with her full time and earn an income. I’ve been taking temporary positions since then and have been really pleased to find it’s a lovely arrangement for both the kids I’ve looked after and my daughter.

The current position I’m in started in Feb 2019 and was meant to be a two month contract. I have now been with the family just shy of a year and have agreed to stay until June. I am looking to find a position 30-35 hrs a week, ideally a bit closer to home. I do have loads of infant care experience as well as early childhood experience, including preschool/daycare. I love an active day with outings, music, art, and the outdoors!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really love getting out! Parks, music, movement and other enriching outings are at the top of my list of favorite things. I also believe in making messes! (And cleaning them up, lol) Painting, play dough, and bubbles are amazing for engaging childhood wonder and imagination so I rely on those tools quite a lot. I also engage musically with children a great deal, and I can’t really say it’s intentional, that just seems to be the natural way of being with children for me. Whether trying to calm, distract, redirect or cheer up, music is my go to.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is having a genuine connection with the kiddos. There are a million little things that go into a really successful nanny/family relationship, but the connection with the ones you spend the day with is by far the most important piece, and it’s not a given. All children are lovable, and they all have their moments of challenge, so taking the time to find and build that connection is especially important.
