More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
At age twelve, I began babysitting my neighbor's three children. A girl 5, a boy 2, and a newborn little girl.
I also took care of two little boys down the street from me ages 4 and 6.
I cared for them until I moved with my family three years later.
After moving, I continued babysitting all ages of children.
Mainly six months to seven years old.
My sister also had two little girls that I babysat for throughout their lives. Especially summers that I would often visit with my sister and stay for a month.
I was also employed in the late 1990's at a swim school in Tampa that specialized in teaching infants and very young children to swim.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy reading to children.
Using crayons and construction paper to make refrigerator masterpieces.
Going outside for a walk.
Going to a park or a library.
Making hand puppets with old socks. If the children are old enough we can write a play and then act it out with the puppets.
Baking easy cookies they can decorate.
The possibilities are endless.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Being the person to bring stability and care when a child's parent can't be there is a huge responsibility and honor.
It's not like any other job.
Your emotional stability and character are so important
Children learn by watching adults.
Everything that is said and done or watched on a screen, becomes the foundation of how the child sees themselves and the world around them.
Modeling empathy during critical moments in a child's development is so crucial.
Empathy is learned.
Everyday is another chance to show them how people should care for themselves. While also learning to care about how others feel too.
.Allowing them to explore, while still letting them know there are boundaries.
Rules actually help a child feel safe and protected.
Routines also help children feel relaxed and make daily tasks easier.

I love that moment when a child finally trusts you enough to lay their head on your shoulder as you carry them.
That always signaled to me that they felt relaxed and safe with me.
