I use to have a Home Day Care on a Miltary Base my husband was staioned at while our two sons where 2 and 3 years of age back in 1992.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Coloring, making play doe, learning words..(I have a Hooked On Phonics tapes), walking, watching kid movies on money day, make our very own sock puppet. After lunch, the child needs a 30 minute nap time, after their snap I'd have them prepared to greet parents when they arrive back home. All plans are approved by parents and altered. Their child. :0) If you the parent would like to video chat or request live viewing of your child in care, I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. I'm straight up and real with the parents.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Seeing the child grow up Happy, Loved, appreciate, A somebody, and Dressed nice to feel good about themselves. I never want to see a child Hungry and/having low self-esteem.
My experience with special needs children...
I really dont have any problem. I worked as a parapro at Lowndes County Middle School only for awhile.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh my goodness. The children would want to come home with me. Then i have to tell them how sad mom and dad would be not seeing them at home. One said they never home anyways. It Got to me, it did.
